According to a 2015 analysis of numbers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics by Peninsula Press, a project of the Stanford University Journalism Program, there are more than 209,000 cybersecurity jobs in the U.S. unfilled.

A report by Cisco, the USA based MNC which focuses on networking equipment, revealed a shortage of over a million cyber security professionals around the world.

“Today, most U.S. schools offer courses on how to use technology, but no courses that cover the fundamental concepts and skills of computing. In fact, only 19 percent of U.S. high-school students take a computer science class, a percentage that has fallen over the last two decades,” – according to the National Science Foundation.

The ways of filling the gap by educating students also included encouraging more girls to step into cyber security careers.

The demand for IT security professionals and the salary rates for the existing professionals in the field will be growing till 2020, – according to the majority of reports from various studies in recent news.
