UNLOCKED Launch Webinar Highlights
On September 1st 2016, we did something we haven’t done in a long time. We announced that a new eLearnSecurity training course was on its way, but this time, we wanted you guys – the eLS community – to guess what it’s going to be. To make it fun, we made a couple of invitations with hints baked into them.
You gotta admit, the hints were pretty obvious
So for twenty days, a number of guesses were made over Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, forums, and corporate boardrooms about the upcoming training course.
There’s always that guy
As you can imagine, a number of “uh oh, they’re on to us” and “LOLs” were also made over the office messaging client. So before we embark on the awesomeness that was UNLOCKED, we’d all like to thank you for joining in on the frenzy with us!
The big day
September 20 2016 – Broadcasting live from the middle eastern city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, eLearnSecurity founder and CEO Armando Romeo got the show going at exactly 1PM ET. As usual, the keepers of the gate took a beating, fighting off the masses that were frantically trying to get into the GoToWebinar session.
Not one to leave a man behind, we made sure to have all the latecomers covered. Facebook Live to the rescue! Anyone who didn’t manage to squeeze themselves into the 1000-attendant capacity of the webinar were able to watch us via a live stream on our company page.
Locked out of the #UNLOCKED webinar? We’re Live on Facebook, too! https://t.co/3lk4D01QAm

Twitter also buzzed in with the #UNLOCKED party – and boy, was it fun!
@eLearnSecurity yes they are. Feels like an eternity. Start already lol. Hope it’s as good as PTPv4 launch?

The next big thing
To put things in perspective, Armando started off the webinar with a handful of stats which would be shocking for any mobile user.
So what does this all mean? Well, despite the fact that the first iPhone was released in 2007, and the first Android (running on an HTC Dream) in 2008, according to these stats, mobile security is still lagging way behind.
“The next big thing that is happening right now, and will happen for the next ten years is really mobile application security,”
Armando goes on to say, “forget about Internet of Things, forget about car hacking, that is probably something that our children will take care of.”
MASPTv2, unlocked
Ladies and gentlemen, Mobile Application Security and Penetration Testing version 2.
Don’t get us wrong, this isn’t a measly update. MASPTv2 was completely built from scratch, and contains the most up-to-date tools and techniques.
Being the most comprehensive online training course on the subject, MASPTv2 is the GOLD standard in mobile app security.
Let us introduce #MASPTv2 – available from October 12th #UNLOCKED

Yes, gold. The City of Gold, to be exact. Armando announced something never before done in all of IT security, we are bringing one of you guys here to sunny Dubai!
More details will be available on this soon – so hang tight, and get ready to bring out that sunscreen.

From the City of Gold to the City of Angels
While the Dubai announcement definitely stole the show, we got back on track with one of MASPTv2’s co-authors – Black Hat and Defcon-mainstay and world-renowned IT security expert Tony Trummer – demonstrating how to hack an Android application live from Los Angeles, CA.
#MASPTv2 is co-authored by our very own Francesco Stillavato, Tinder’s Tony Trummer @SecBro1 &LinkedIn’s Tushar Dalvi @tushardalvi #UNLOCKED

Despite the attendees not knowing what they’re coming in for, it seems that MASPTv2 quickly became a crowd favorite.
