Apple’s App Store has been compromised and millions of affected iPad and iPhone users are at risk. A vulnerability named XcodeGhost has been reported which functions by adding malicious code to mobile applications that have been built with an infected version of Xcode – Apple’s development environment for iOS.

Google has launched the Vulnerability Research Grant which is an experimental initiative to reward information security researchers that look into their products and services even if there are no vulnerabilities found. These IT researchers (sometimes known as white-hat hackers) will be provided upfront awards as high as 3,133.70 USD.

A software developer found a flaw in Verizon’s Mobile Application and submitted his findings to the broadband and telecommunications company. According to the researcher, Randy Westergren, there was an issue with the Verizon My FiOS app that allowed access to any user’s email account.
